NOW Foods launches metabolic health supplement

NOW Foods has introduced a new dietary supplement called GLP-1 Metabolic Support, designed to promote metabolic health through a clinically validated ingredient mix. The formula integrates Metabolaid, a patented blend from Monteloeder by SuanNutra, alongside Reducose by Phynova and berberine hydrochloride (HCl), sourced from Berberis aristata bark.
The components in this supplement work together to enhance the body’s natural production of GLP-1, a hormone that helps regulate blood sugar, hunger, and fullness. Growing recognition of GLP-1’s importance in metabolic health has sparked interest in dietary methods that support the body’s inherent metabolic functions.
Product Details
NOW GLP-1 Metabolic Support contains 500 mg of Metabolaid, 250 mg of berberine HCl, and 222 mg of Reducose per two-capsule serving. The product is available in bottles, each containing 60 vegetarian capsules. Its suggested use is one to two capsules daily before the largest meal.
Metabolaid, a patented blend of lemon verbena and hibiscus extracts, has been clinically studied for its effects on appetite control, fullness, and metabolic health. One study found that after two months of use, participants had 61% higher baseline GLP-1 levels compared to those taking a placebo.
Clinical Research
Another study showed a 13% greater increase in GLP-1 levels 15 minutes after eating. Research also indicates reduced hunger, fewer cravings for sweets, and increased satisfaction after meals. Reducose, derived from white mulberry leaves, contains at least 4.5% 1-deoxynojirimycin, which blocks an enzyme involved in carbohydrate digestion.
By slowing the conversion of carbohydrates into glucose, Reducose helps maintain healthy blood sugar and insulin levels after meals. Berberine HCl, a natural compound, supports normal glucose use, insulin sensitivity, and healthy fat metabolism, complementing the other ingredients in the formula.
The rise of GLP-1 weight loss therapies has led ingredient suppliers to position nutraceuticals as complementary to pharmaceuticals, not as a replacement. At CPhI Milan 2026 in Italy, industry players presented adjunct solutions supporting the body’s natural GLP-1 release alongside high-protein and fiber ingredients. They presented these solutions as a way to support the body’s natural metabolic processes.
Monteloeder by SuanNutra and Phynova are among the companies that have developed ingredients to support GLP-1 metabolic health. They have invested in clinical research to demonstrate the efficacy of their ingredients. The results of these studies have shown promise in supporting appetite management, healthy post-meal glucose response, and metabolic health.
