SourceOne Unveils LysOmega for Enhanced Brain, Eye Nutrient Delivery - nutrient delivery
“We have long understood the value of omega-3s,” says Jesse Lopez, CEO and founder of SourceOne.

SourceOne Global Partners has launched LysOmega, an omega-3 formula designed to enhance the absorption of essential fatty acids across the blood-brain and blood-retina barriers. The product aims to improve the delivery of DHA and EPA to vital organs, addressing a key challenge in nutrient absorption.

Four Years in Development

The company says LysOmega is the result of a four-year research and development effort. It combines DHA and EPA from fish oil with phospholipids and choline, delivered via its VESIsorb system.

“We have long understood the value of omega-3s,” says Jesse Lopez, CEO and founder of SourceOne. “Emerging science now suggests that the way these essential fatty acids are delivered to key organs, including the brain, may be as important as the amount we take.”

Enhanced Absorption

The VESIsorb delivery system, with 35 years of commercial use, is clinically shown to increase omega-3 absorption by up to 26-fold, according to a Phase I human study. This technology delivers higher LPC-DHA levels in the blood plasma, increasing its concentration at the MFSD2A transporter surface, which moves DHA across the blood-brain barrier.

SourceOne says this approach supports potential applications in cognitive health, healthy aging, eye health, and reproductive health. The system’s small droplet size and low polydispersity index enhance bioavailability, reproducibility, and homogeneity.

Upcoming Clinical Trial

A human clinical trial is set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, led by Michael Davidson, M.D., director of the Lipid Clinic at the University of Chicago. The study will evaluate whether LysOmega produces higher and more consistent DHA and EPA levels in the bloodstream and greater central nervous system availability compared to conventional omega-3 products.

“A particular focus is on APOE4 carriers, roughly one in four people, who have a well-established increase in late-onset Alzheimer’s disease risk,” says Davidson. “This study will evaluate SourceOne’s ability to address this unmet need with LysOmega.”

Market Entry

SourceOne is launching LysOmega this week at SupplySide Global 2026 in Las Vegas. The company positions the product as a first-to-market opportunity with LPC-rich omega-3 validated for compatibility with a clinically proven delivery system.
